 15 October 2016 marked a significant day among Olympians as the rain did not stop 1200 students, teachers and parents from participating in WALKATHON 2016 - a fundraising event to support flood victims in central Vietnam.
Affected by the sudden flood, more than 70,000 houses in Quang Binh and almost 25,000 ones in Ha Tinh provinced have been damaged. Rice fields and other agricultural land have been inundated, local media report, and the main north-south rail link is affected. More essential living supplements are also collected and will be dispatched to Quang Binh province this week. Olympia students are now gathering books and other study supplements to send to Dong Hoa primary school to support 276 students whose schools and home are severely affected by the flood this week during 26-28 October 2016.
