Something along the lines of: Olympia SGO is one of the pillars upon which the solidity of the institution is based. Members of the governing board act as advocates for their fellow students, and help to ensure the integrity of The Olympia Schools both academically and socially. Through organization and good works, SGO improves the quality of life for students and faculty and preserves the six values on which Olympia prides itself. Student Government Organization (SGO) is the governing body of Olympia students. Joining SGO, students will have the opportunity to learn, train and demonstrate their leadership skills. In addition to receiving a certificate of participation, students involve themselves in a variety of activities including fundraising, delegating responsibility, organizing and budgeting. Purpose:
  • To provide leadership training programs for outstanding students who are the representative of the grade 9, 10, 11, and 12;
  • SGO members will raise the problems and attempt to resolve the needs of the student to school board members at official meetings.
Function:
  • Function of the SGO is to study important issues revolving around the student body (academic problems, activities, sports, food, etc.) and inform the school board members.
  • Implement activities to raise funds for each grade.
  • Publish a monthly newsletter under the supervision of a teacher;
  • Conduct student activities;
  • Participate in a number of official meetings related to the student's problem;
  • Participate in the school’s official ceremony
  • Participate as a member of the Disciplinary Board to discipline students for inappropriate behaviors;
  • Report back to students about the SGO activities.
